Prof. Nona Krislin Gomez Jopillo, Dr. Chrismar L. Mocorro, and Julius P. Pahama, Project Programmer, conducted a consultative meeting with the health professionals of Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital (GTLMH), one of the institution’s identified key stakeholders, on the implementation of LactaLink – a proposed Mobile Application for Facilitating Breastmilk Donation and Distribution under the Gender and Development (GAD) Center of MSU-IIT.
The meeting served as a venue for introducing the objectives and core features of the LactaLink application, while also gathering valuable insights from frontline medical practitioners directly involved in maternal and child health services.
Discussions highlighted the importance of establishing a safe, efficient, and accessible system for breastmilk donation and distribution, particularly for infants in need of breastmilk due to medical conditions or maternal constraints. The health professionals of GTLMH provided critical feedback on protocols for donor screening, storage, and distribution, ensuring that the application aligns with medical standards and ethical guidelines. Their input not only validated the project’s relevance in addressing healthcare gaps but also reinforced the importance of collaboration between academia, healthcare institutions, and the community in creating innovative solutions for child and maternal welfare.

To ensure the success and sustainability of the project, the following inputs from stakeholder collaboration were emphasized:
These insights helped determine the next steps for the project, particularly in identifying potential partners who can contribute to its sustainability, upkeep, and effective implementation.
The team, with the help of its stakeholders and recipients, hopes for a successful rollout and continued impact of the mobile application.
